Academic genres are different types of writing used in higher education, such as research papers, essays, reports, and literature reviews. They can all look different depending on their purpose and audience. Academic writing is usually organized and supported by evidence because the goal is to clearly communicate ideas and information to others.

Research is important in higher education because it helps us learn more about different topics and answer questions. We can create new knowledge by looking at information that already exists, comparing different ideas, and using evidence to form our own conclusions. Research also helps people continue building on what others have already discovered.

I have written research projects before in both high school and college. Most of my previous projects involved finding reliable sources and using them to support my ideas. This project is a little different because it makes me think more about the research process itself and how research helps create knowledge. Overall, I think academic writing and research are important because they help people share ideas and learn new things.
